We are stacking up wins in the courts! The latest Federal Court win removes the requirements for Form 4s on suppressors in the State of Maryland purchased from SilencerCo or Silencer Shop.
But do not get too excited. Short-barreled rifles and shotguns are still highly regulated with the same parameters. In addition, if you purchase a suppressor from another company, you still have to complete the Form 4.

The Consolidated Lawsuit Explained
Without diving into the weeds, this case was decided at the lowest Federal level in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, and the suit was consolidated — several lawsuits were filed, and plaintiffs joined their complaints together.
Therefore, the plaintiffs in Jensen v. ATF are afforded relief — meaning the 15 states joined in the complaint, Gun Owners of America members, SilencerCo, and Silencer Shop.

Why Does This Affect the Entire Country?
Nationwide Injunctions & Federal Jurisdiction
Because the Federal courts can issue nationwide injunctions and the case challenged a federal regulation, the ruling found that the ATF acted illegally. Federal judges have the power to issue injunctions that apply only to the parties, within the district, or nationwide.
Therefore, Federal Judge James Hendrix ruled that the ATF may not enforce these provisions nationally — because the ATF operates nationally.
